Who operates ChatterJoy

ChatterJoy is operated from the United Kingdom and is available at chatterjoy.co.uk. If you have any question about this policy, please write to us at hello@chatterjoy.co.uk or use our contact form.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save information in your browser's local storage or session storage, which works in a similar way. In this policy we use “cookies” to cover all of these.

Why ChatterJoy uses them

We use them for two reasons only: to keep you securely signed in to your family account, and to remember settings and your child's place in activities so the app behaves the way you left it. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.

Analytics, advertising and third parties

ChatterJoy does not place analytics cookies, advertising cookies or social media tracking cookies, and no third party is permitted to track your family across other websites through ChatterJoy. Our hosting and database providers process requests so the service can run, but they do not set tracking cookies through the app.

If you take out a Joy Plus membership, the payment page is provided by our payment processor and that page may set its own strictly necessary cookies to complete the payment securely. That happens only when you choose to start a payment.

Accepting or rejecting cookies

Because ChatterJoy only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the service, or that remember settings you chose inside the app, we do not show a consent banner and there is nothing optional to switch off. Under UK rules, consent is not required for storage that is essential to provide a service you have asked for.

You can still clear or block this storage at any time using your browser settings, and you can remove the settings we save on your device by clearing site data for chatterjoy.co.uk. If you block the strictly necessary items, you will not be able to stay signed in and parts of the app will not work.

Every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data from its privacy or settings menu, usually under “Cookies and site data”. Signing out of ChatterJoy also clears your sign-in and membership information from this device.

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce optional cookies, we will update this page and ask for your consent before they are used.
